MX-3 a slightly overstable midrange disc
The Prodigy MX-3 is a slightly overstable, beaded midrange disc designed for controllability and high-level performance.
The disc meets the demands of professionals while providing benefits for different classes of players.
The MX-3 is designed to be highly resistant to torque, perfect for players who throw with power and need to avoid turnovers.
Headwinds are no match for the MX-3, with a slightly over-stable to straight flight that still offers an impressive amount of glide, especially when thrown on the anhyzer.
But a beaded edge provides a comfortable grip, soft release and stability.
The MX-3 is a trailblazer that defines the path for more Discs in the MX series.
For those familiar with Prodigy's M Series Midrange Discs, the MX-3 has similar stability to the M2, with more glide and fade later in the flight path.
500 the plastic is developed through carefully considered player feedback
The Prodigy 500 Plastic has been in development for a long time.
The 500 plastic is molded and based on carefully considered player feedback.
It has a stiffer, less rubbery feel than the 400 Plastic.
This provides an extremely secure grip on the disc, balancing just the right amount of flex and firmness, with a very solid feel that Prodigy believes disc golfers will love.
The 500 Plastic has a unique pearlescent finish, unlike anything else in the Prodigy Disc plastic line.
What does MX-3 mean?
Prodigy has very logical names for their disks.
M= Midrange X= Extra length and 3= 1-7 indicates how over or under stable the disk is.
A low number means over stable and the higher the number the more under stable the disk is.
Over- or under-stable
Over- or under-stable explains whether the disc goes right or left for right-handed backhand throwers.
Add turn + Fade, if the sum is below 0 the disc is under-stable.
If the sum is 0, it is a neutral disc and if the sum is over 1, the disc is overstable.
Understable = Right, Neutral = Straight, Overstable = Left.
If you are left-handed it is the other way around, also applies to a right-handed person throwing forehand.
As a beginner, you should have an under-stable disc with low weight.
